A fantastic leadership experience for professional and working women is to sit on the board and/or get involved with nonprofits who need your expertise and support. InPower women is helping you do that in ways that fit into your work-life balance equation. Check out our programs below! (And read our Philanthropy posts!)

2012 Spring Fundraising Beneficiary: District Alliance for Safe Housing
DASH has been recognized by the White House and HHS for blazing new trails in service models for survivors of domestic violence. By pursuing a uniquely “InPowering” model of social service, DASH is demonstrating the value of the philosophy that power blooms from the inside out. At DASH, women are given safe housing as an alternative to homelessness for their children, they are given the opportunity to tap into their own personal power by choosing from a menu of available benefits, and given education and assistance to take advantage of programs which can help them reestablish their financial independence. Watch this short video to see DASH in action:
As a result, DASH clients are much less likely to return to their abusers and more likely to reestablish their lives in safety. You can learn more about DASH at their website (www.dashdc.org).
